$5 Bill (or Cog Catcher) is the level three Lure gag. It succeeds the Small Magnet but precedes the Big Magnet.

General

The $5 Bill can be obtained once the toon has earned a total of "100" Lure skill points. The toon can move up to the next level gag, the Big Magnet, after earning a total of "800" Lure skill points.

As with all Lure gags, the $5 Bill does not do any damage. Instead, it lures one cog, disabling them in the process or activating any Trap gags deployed before luring. It has a low accuracy of 60%. The duration of the lured cogs will last around three rounds. If grown on a tree and is organic, the accuracy of the gag increases to medium.

When first obtained, a toon can carry a maximum of five $5 Bills. After obtaining the Hypno Goggles, a toon can carry a maximum of twenty $5 Bills.

The Lure track does not use the basic formula to determine the next increase in damage.

As a Lure gag, it deals no damage to cogs, therefore it does not increase in damage over the training progress nor does the accuracy increase.

Animation

  1. The toon will pull out a fishing rod with a $5 bill attached on the end of the the string.
  2. The toon will cast the fishing rod's string near the targeted cog, while reeling the string closer.
  3. If it works, the cog will lean down and step forward, as an attempt to take the $5 bill. If it does not work, the cog will stand still.
  4. The toon will then pull up the fishing rod back, and the cog will look up and stand in the lured position.
  5. The toon will put the rod back in it's pocket.

  • This gag is similar to the $1 Bill and $10 Bill, differing only with the denomination and the number of rounds it disables the cogs.
  • This gag is called a Cog Catcher on the trading card, sharing its trading card with the $1 Bill and $10 Bill.
  • It is a two-part gag, meaning the damage depends on the gag used with it.
  • The $5 bill is the same money a cog takes out of your pocket during the attack Pick Pocket.
  • Penny Pinchers dislike this gag, because that's worth a lot of pennies!
    • According to their trading card, Penny Pinchers like the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, who is on the penny and the $5 bill. This could also be another reason why this gag is their weakness.
